Movember

Hello World!

It's that time of the year again when the men in our lives support awareness of Prostate Cancer by sporting moustaches. In case you are unfamiliar with this tradition and immediately assume it's just a reason for men to look like dirt bags for a month, don't knock it. It allows men to raise money (most men) and act as a billboard for a month about men's health. I for one condone the idea of the Mo.
Think about it. It started off as a challenge between Travis Garone and his co-founders the first year and then the year after they decided to really let the challenge take off for the better. The foundation is an amazing awareness skill considering that men often participate in our Breast Cancer Awareness Month, while wearing pink throughout October. It's only fair that after a month of pink, they assume the Alpha-Male role and represent men's awareness as well by sporting their furry, tickley lip sweaters as Mo Bros.

There are rules to follow.

1. On November 1st, kick off the month clean shaven.
2. They must let it grow for the entire month of Movember.
3. No beards, goatees, soul patches, etc. Strictly 'stache.
4. On November 30th, 'stache parties galore!

Now, ladies. There are ways you can participate as well! You can sign up as a Mo Sista and help support your friends and men by joining their team and donating online at http://ca.movember.com/ . You can also do little things like painting your nails like the video linked here! it's super cute and girly as well! http://youtu.be/6wc66W0lYx0 Cute Polish did an excellent job at this and I support Movember 100 %!

It's nice to see men in their rugged state every once in a while, right?

A New Day. A New Life.

Hello world!

So, today was my college graduation day. It was an emotional roller coaster and I couldn't be more proud of myself and my classmates. The girls I was blessed to spend ten months together will be the friends I keep around forever. They are beautiful, funny and intelligent young women whom I love dearly. It's our time to move forward and become who we were destined to be, whether it be within our studied profession or not. I just want them to stay in touch and to find the true definition of happiness in life.

As for myself, I'm scared. I've reached a new life milestone and am fearful of the road ahead. It's unknown and it's soon approaching me faster than I think I'm comfortable with. Overwhelming really. I now have to find a REAL job and start MY life. As exciting as it sounds, when you finally grow up, it's the most terrifying process.

For a while, I thought I had it all figured out. I was going to start my career, move in next year with my boyfriend and live happily ever after. Now, I'm starting my career, I do not currently have another half but am enjoying my youth. Yes, there is a boy who has become my point of interest, don't get me wrong, but I'm glad that he and I are on the same page. Slow and steady wins the race.

Truth be told, I'm not the girl I was ten months ago, nor do I have any interest in rediscovering her within myself. She was lifeless and lonely. I cannot be her again.

I'm comfortable in my skin today and that's all that matters. Focused on my career and prepared for anything that comes my way. Whether this new fling works out or not, I love who I am and I love my friends/family.

As for advice, ladies. Please don't think that you have everything figured out. Truth is, you don't and probably never will. Life is constantly changing and there's no point in trying to adapt to one particular lifestyle because that lifestyle could be gone in a matter of seconds.

Embrace your life and soak every minute detail in!

Fitness tip: working out in the morning will give you a boost in starting your day as well as giving you a general idea of what your calorie intake should be. By working out in the evening, you're already exhausted and want to burn off what you ate that way which can often be disappointing when sleep trumps all.

Try running stairs in ten minute intervals followed by the Rugby Canada ab workout between each set for half an hour. You'll hate me and love yourself!

Beauty tip: to maintain a healthy, overall body glow, do a full body exfoliation once-twice a week using a mixture of baby oil and sea salt. Ladies, this gets messy! Also, once you rinse off, take sliced mango(dry skin) or sliced apple (oily skin) and do a second exfoliation. Rinse again, and if you have time do a full body mask. If you don't have the time or the mask itself, use a super good hydrating body lotion. You'll feel super soft and look like you're a glowy pregnant lady without the baby bump or the baby to boot!

I have naturally dry-acne skin so I found myself a chocolate body mask. Right now, I'm using ORE's cocoa body wrap. It makes me smell like a snack.

The Woman Behind the Posts

Here's the deal.

I'm quite blunt and I cannot uphold a conversation with a complete and utter moron- correction: I refuse to. So, if you can't handle the honest and ugly truth, you probably shouldn't continue to read my posts.

I also enjoy a good fat kid Friday session... everyday. The thing is, I do it all in moderation. I started out two years ago at 200lbs. With determination, home fitness videos and routines, as well as a trusty diet plan, I got my ass into shape and am currently sitting at a comfortable weight 58lbs later. I'm telling you this, because if you don't think I know what I'm talking about, you're a goddamn idiot.

I'm a Medical Esthetician, General Esthetics Professional and Cosmetologist. In other words, I can tell you a thing or two about taking care of yourself. I love my profession and seeing the improvements in my clients means the absolute world to me.

I do not have a favourite colour. Truth is, I feel awful for choosing one colour crayon over the other because I feel bad for the other crayons. Yes, in my mind inanimate objects have feelings too.

I also love my kitty. Her name is Serena and she's my fourteen year old cat whom I'm allergic to. It breaks my heart but I'll snuggle her until the end. Call me crazy, but we're bestest buddies.

Song of the day: Glad You Came by The Wanted

It's a really cute euro-style dance song that just makes me happy. I can't quite explain it, but it's a feel good song. I just adore it.

Lifestyles of the Average, yet Fabulous Woman

If I could tell anyone anything, whilst bedridden and counting the moments until my expiration, I would advise them this:

"Do not take your mistakes in life as if they were a noose to your heart and mind. They are the stepping stones in the direction of making you who you are at the end of the day.You are beautiful. You are beautiful in every which way possible and never let anyone tell you otherwise. Embrace who you are and those who are worth it, will love you unconditionally."

And now that I've told you this, I'm not here to tell you that I'm an emotional guru, hoping that you'll follow me in my preaching ways, but I am young, yet I am wise. I hope that maybe I could offer you some perspective in many regions of your life.

I want to help you with your confidence and throughout your journey of discovering who you are...not somebody someone wants you to be.

I will discuss:
-personal experiences
-amazing cardio/fitness tips
-endearing stories
-skincare
-random quirky facts and pending lifelong issues

Take it or leave it. I'm here and I am honest. I will be blunt and I will be fearless.
